There are no qualifying studies of Fast ForWord for beginning reading.

Upper Elementary School

Fast ForWord has limited evidence of effectiveness for upper elementary reading. The two qualifying studies included in this review showed effect sizes of +0.25, and +0.11.

Middle/High School

Struggling Readers

About Fast ForWord

Fast ForWord is a computerized program designed on the theory that many children with reading and language delays have auditory processing disorders. It uses computer games that slow and magnify acoustic changes within normal speech to “retrain the brain” to process information more effectively.
